Baby Murloc

Oh how adorable is this? I love murlocs and this precious pattern! My Gurky plush is delighted with his mini-me.

To be a bit critical, the dimensions of the pattern don’t seem to be right – the arms are really long compared to the legs, but honestly, he’s adorable so it doesn’t matter.

I would recommend making the eyes before finishing the body if you are using safety eyes, so that these can be attached through both the eye pieces and the body. That’s a recommendation from my mistake, as I didn’t realise this until afterwards 🙂 Stretching the weave of the body, I could squeeze in the screw of the safety eye though – as this is not going to be given to a child, it’s not really an issue.

The arms were a bit too fiddly for me to work in the round, so instead of joining, I used ch 1 turn and then sewed it together before attaching. For the fins on his back, I made these with i-cord instead of following the pattern. Just a design choice really as I like the smooth look of i-cord and though it fits well.
